1/30/2007 03:00:00 PMnow.. wat we do during free time will be like play poker, dai dee, bridge, com games includes many.. got wat i like.. san guo.. play worms, bomberman,druglord, etc etc.. den watch dvds.. n for tv.. australia ones are like quite boring but once in a while they hav old shows n movies n like ghostbusters.. haha. their sports are like not soccer.. but they watch cricket.. n recently got australia open which ppl now mostly watch.. wkends we will go out.. dey jus hav streets.. n its nth like orchard road.. they hav few shopping malls n they are quite small.. their supermarts doesnt have chain stores n they are usually quite big.. like coles n big w. sells everythg.. quite like carrefour. they hav quite a variety of chocs but they are not cheap either. nth special in de streets except u can still find chinese and indian restaurants there. i ate at noodle house before and it cost like A$10 for normal hokkien mee or char kuey teow.. de taste abit more salty n oily but still quite gd.. it comes in a like bucket shaped box.. n it looks small but when u eat its like a bottomless pit. 2 person can share one or u can actually take one serving as 2 meals. tts in my guy pt of view. = mostly is western n i quite like hogs breath cafe. de young aussies can get rowdy when they r in their cars.. they dun rly like asians.. well i dunno why.. their cars are much cheap there too.. cos even a kitchen asst drives a sports car.. so cool. and there are like alot harley davidsons n those big big bikes ard too. we play sports too.. theres like all sorts of equipment, bball, soccer, rugby, frisbee, volley, tennis.. complete wif swimming pool.. haha.. tt place sounds like chalet rite.. theres gym too.. but too bad its closed cos they upgrading or sth.. hai.. tt explains why weight increase. haha.
okies.. now i'll tok bout instructors.. down there theres a only female instructor.. callsign "rainbow" cos her name is cai hong.. haha. shes de first female pilot in rsaf.. n how she got herself in was that she wrote into ministry of defence itself. haha. n shes a transport pilot.. previously c130. shes a quite a nag.. n likes to say "fart".. hee.. maj gabriel.. is our course commander.. hes a nice guy n can be quite truthful to us. one thg is he doesnt hav much power.. n his decisions doesnt always seem rite wif our head of agc. head of agc is well of cos maj kullar, callsign jolly.. which happens to be my instructor.. hes de boss n hes strict no doubt.. n he never gives face in his words.. he says watever he likes n dun rly care how u feel. he can scold vulgar in a well gentlemen way.. meaning not in a shouting tone. theres maj neo who shares his experience as a pilot with us.. he gave a very truthful n sad view about pilots.. how they spend half their lives abroad.. maj ralph.. is de most fierce instructor it seems.. not really gd comments bout him.. but hes quite a eurasian. his son is like an aussie beng.. den theres maj ong kp which callsign is kingpin. hes quite a gd bowler by his callsign.. got his own ball n everythg.. but he is old n has his own way of teaching.. but it seems like he is nice when he is a tester. haha. maj liew kp is de deputy of agc. i found him abit unreasonable at first.. where he wants ans back like "almost instinctive".. we are so new how can expect tt? den he likes to questions n gives pressure to ppl.. his students all v stress but they managed to pass lor.. well they are gd themselves la.. after a sortie with him.. i find tt he is actually v hardworking n meticulous.. he wrote down every action i do when i fly.. thus giving v gd debrief.. his preflight brief is hard.. n its like a test.. but actually quite challenging n fun.. if u managed to ans his qtns tt is. heee.. together these instructors have like over 300 yrs of experience..duh.. they can fly like using one hand.. dun use instruments.. well jus with ease la.. they r gd.. but its no doubt cos they flew wif de plane so frequently.. at least 2 hrs per day.. lol.. taking care of admin is warrant sulinder. hes a nice singh.. cos most singhs are like.. fierce. haha. hes so soft.. and he nv gets angry..
theres alot to study actually.. cos there are alot of notes.. but most of de time all we can do is mental fly.. which is gg through the procedures.. theres also a poster of de instruments for us.. n we use it to visualise lor.. but honestly theres onli to an extent to which mental fly can help.. thgs are different when they move.. yea.. so tho on de ground i noe wat to do an all.. but in the air u wan to achieve sth is not tt easy.. most of the time ppl will chase instruments but then hey we chase cos we dunno ma.. we cant feel de plane as well wat.. if we look out all de time.. im sure we cant obtain de correct settings.. haii.. wateva its jus not easy. on the ground.. my taxy oso not v gd.. its not like riding bicycle.. or driving.. or go kart.. de pedals are like quite stiff n heavy n not efficient at all.. den de brakes is ju on top of de pedals n i find it quite hard to reach without touching de pedals n lifting my leg.... when doing a v steep turn i seem to hav some problems most of the time.another thg which failed me is cos of area familiarisation.. we are to identify places by looking down on de ground.. altho i didnt fly out of training area n stuff.. but i didnt get the exact pts to do certain thgs rite.. well.. ive always agar agar.. n kullar nv rly taught me how to identify those stuff.. ahh.. sux. its quite hard to find the buildings too.. cos in the air everythg to tiny from above.. n de plane keeps moving wat.. from far cant see.. too near later rite below us oso dunno.. n hard to see on the furthur side on de right.. de horizon sometimes also quite of a problem cos it gets misty sometimes.. n there can be clouds and all which we should not climb into and should avoid them.. de weather gets hot in de aftn and we sweat like hell too.. sometimes theres alot of turbulences which makes it hard to control de plane.. even to fly straight n level.. oh well.. many factors to be involved.. one of de harder part is to do circuits.. turning n climbing n descending at certain settings n meet certain criterias.. gotta be damn fast even with de checks.. my checks are quite ok.. at least can say without really pausing for a moment. not bad la.. when i started not knowing n understanding wat they mean even.
well.. too bad cant get into phase 2 which includes aerobatics..

ok.. tonite the rest of de failures are coming back.. lucky them lor.. so good get to stay another wk.. i guess my luck is still down.. wats my lucky charm doing ? :P hopefully can meet up wif them like on thurs.. or fri if theywan to send de 02/07 off.. but i doubt they wan cos of the indians... but mayb for ping wei,tian le, jonathan... and wei lun says he might wan to go airport cos he wans to eat popeye.. -_-
well.. wanna noe more about tamworth?? like wat a ulu unheard of place rite.. yea quite.. but its famous once in a yr cos of its country music festival which takes place usually in january.. i got a glimpse of it la.. so not bad lor.. but the festival is nth much.. jus having many buskers playing country music at every corner even in shopping malls. haha. ok tamworth is jus one of de small town ( but actually its quite big compared to gunnedah, curl lewis, especially so by aerial view) of new south wales.. NSW is big ok.. sydney is jus part of it too.. but den compared to de whole of australia.. its so tiny la.. haha. bulk of aust is actually desert.. so all de cities are by de coast. but sad to say.. we never got to see de aust sea n coast.. haha. the weather when we arrive was damn cold la.. we were quite shock cos we were expecting hot weather.. but its like 12-17 C when we arrive.. but thats for like the first 2-3 days. the rest of de days was hot.. damn hot.. but its different frm singapore where hot will sweat.. down there sweat less cos its less humid.. n lips can crack de.. de sun can burnt ur skin and its no wonder why aussies skin not v gd n they get cancer easily.. haha.. but i went for a jog like on de 2nd day to explore de place.. its so cold.. n weeee.. i couldnt sweat at all.. it was really freaking cold.. wind was big.. n i was panting like mad. haha. mayb i lao le n yea.. fat cannot run. den after which the weather change drastically. it was a difference of up to 15C change in a day. meaning one moment can be cold.. de next is hot. which well. after a day or two.. i fell sick.. den got fever.. by rite.. no self medicate.. but i dun care.. see a doctor cost A$70. siao.. n after more rest n sleep i manage to recover fast :P n ya i was eating ice cream still despite ill.. lol... now mentioning bout food. of cos most of aust is western food. but tt doesnt really mean i'll get sick of it.. cos its always da yu da rou when we had our mini buffet meals at the cookhouse there. its really quite shiok cos de food is quite nice. but when he tries to cook asian food i'll say gd try.. but it taste weird n different still. ha.. at least darling cook le got a more correct taste la. :P n down there can make ur own crepe to eat everyday.. guess aussies quite like tt.. n free flow ice cream everyday.. think we manage to finish like 15 tubs of it on our stay there. !!! haha.. some really eat everyday.. mayb not thrice a day but twice a day.. =0 food is good.. now lodging oso good.. cos we had a room to ourselves.. n its probably like for 2 persons kinda size.. complete with bath tub..study table..n balcony.. altho de balcony view got nth much.. cos got trees and jus see de opposite blocks.. but still quite nice to sit outside n chat.. cos its windy.. ah yes.. aust is windy most of the time.. if look far can see horses.. haha.. there are roaming horses but not exactly cos still is someone rear de.. n ive not seen koalas or kangaroos. no cows either. but u thot they are australia animals? well they only exists in certain cities n certain places. but i got to see birds.. australia native birds are mostly parrots.. n common ones are especially de red n white kind.. occasionally i see de green/colorful one.. or de complete white color parrot. oso i found out wats a kookaburra.. which i read about in walkabout as literature text. haha. back to lodging.. we had a common room which most of us spend de time at.. theres de tv which we used to watch countless dvds.. probably averaging 20 dvds per wk. lol.. n de com is old.. cos windows 98.. but still its filled wif lots of games which we can never play finish.. its kinda great bonding in the common room..
usually we wake like 5.30 am everymorning except wk ends. this is probably like 2.30am in singapore.. mayb sometimes my bao bei oso haven sleep yet.. n then we will have our breakfast and head for our class room. that is de venue we will be at until like 3+ pm everyday.. regardless of whether we had sorties( meaning flights planned for us) or not.. we will stay in de room. well the com there is another wonder com.. cos its got lotsa movies vendetta, top gun, american pie to name a few.. funny clips.. mp3.. music videos.. on top of all these theres still its study notes, lecture slides, lotsa info to read about.. yea.. so at least its not that bored in there. lunch will be packed for us.. n its usually sandwhiches with cupnoodles, muesli bar, fruit juice, biscuits.. sounds quite a lot.. but still ok.. can finish de.. haha. de other common room back at the classroom there got some other coms.. which is where i can access to internet. :) but these coms are shared among aussies n us RSAF.. de aussies are known as ADF australian defence force.. they dun care air or land or sea.. all called ADF.
now moving on to my coursemates.. they were actually nice bunch of ppl.. or at least some i can see like flying which i too enjoyed.. but some actually dun.. like aroozoo.. n yet he passed.. ahhhh.. hes a doesnt-look-like-commando.. he got a big tattoo on his right arm (picture of angel killing devil) lol.. quite cool k.. but hes actually v soft.. dunno why he commando.. haha. and de guy that sits beside me in class is toh chee. he v poor thg la.. cos he couldnt fly well too.. and he got touched in de face by his instructor.. ahha.. his instructor always lift his visor up to look at him.. hahah. ok.. he thinks he cant fly well too.. even when hes tried.. so he sortof giveup too la.. he is oso quite a playful guy.. sitting on my left hand side is weilun lor.. which we sortof buddyup..hes a police n he too cant fly well n he couldnt v much be bothered oso.. jus aiming for ORD.. haha.. n another police weizhang.. is celebrating already even he fail.. cos he gg to ORD in feb. which is a few more days. de other police which i find quite irritating.. yong qiang..pass lo.. yucks.. he will die.. cos he need go bmt.. n mayb he might be my recruit.. wahahaha.. tekan him.. cmon tekan him.. he cant do anythg to me cos i king in tekong.. lol.. my course got quite alot of ppl.. compared to other courses mayb like twice as much la.. so quite fun.. more ppl.. merrier.. the officers.. got 5 of them.. julian, joey, yong en, dao wei, shaun.. looking at their names.. noe who fail n who pass?? well de first 3 failed.. which i dun really hav much comments except yong en.. who is our course ic.. is quite a f-up officer.. dun understand why he officer.. hes small,weak;physically,mentally; n he not v smart.. grades nt v gd.. n he frm nyjc de.. ha. quite lawbylaw kinda person so most ppl dun really appreciate him. de other 2 officers that pass.. shaun.. is a good guy.. n im glad he passed.. think he can go quite far.. tho.. mayb sometimes a bit blur.. but overall is quite good. for dao wei.. most oso dun like him.. cos he damn DAO.. think he officer big.. haha. he got airsick too.. weakling. :P but he still manage pass. mayb he reach aerobatics stage he will die lor.. edward n ri quan(RQ) passed oso.. i quite confirm they would pass even like on first day.. they were sort of well trained.. especially under maj liew kp. haha. they can go far too de. Ziyi failed lor.. quite sad for him.. cos he oso quite despo like me wan to pass.. haha. anyway.. he is one of de most well versed person in terms of flying. but u see noe so much dunno how to fly still end up same thg.. FAIL. work twice as hard oso no much use de.. cos in the air its different. hai. mayb theres some technique or a way to help.. but nobody told us n we didnt noe. ok.. next theres our CSM zu hui.. wat can i say.. once armor always armor.. yea.. hes gg back.. mayb he might sign on armor.. oh yea.. he looks damn damn old for his age.. like 30 or sth. altho he quite short.. or in fact shortest in course. de other old guy.. 29 is a ex-commando.. he got sei n mature man look. but he oso fail. haha. then theres de 2 andrews. chng n young. both fail.. n dun seem to really strive hard to pass.. no doubt they study too. that should b all.. one more guy.. de WSO.. zheng quan.. oso fail.. tho hes WSO n we pilot.. we still play together la.. but he is de first to go home. haha.

5 was back wif kullar.. hes a nice instructor la.. nv really f me.. but of cos he still scold sometimes la.. ok.. i think me and aroozoo did bad today.. so he thinks its not up to performance.. so he failed us. my god.. im quite sure its acutually a marginal pass.. but he chose to fail us. probably wan to perk us up ba. he says he rather fail us if we cant make it then go fly de test. yea. damn.. means my next flight is actually a test itself. fail means end lor.. no go test. hes de head here la.. so must set standard.. his student cannot make him lose face. wah.. sh*t. well.. see how. jia you ba. 3 of them are gg to have the test tmr. hmm.. wonder will they pass not. pray for everyone here man.. hope at least we can enjoy another wkend here lor. wah....

first sortie
1/07/2007 04:05:00 PMahhhh.. tmr my first sortie! argh,, dunno wat to expect.. they supposedly say its a joy ride.. but i think its sth tt i cannot relax.. cos most of the familiarisation will be done in this flight.. and they will like show de area and ur supposed to like photo memory of those areas?? kinda crazy.. but the thg is.. it seems they gonna do some aerobatics too.. wah.. tt means might get airsick.. haha.. pukessss.. i'll eat less tmr for sure.. haha.. hope everythg goes well tmr.. i need to do more mental flying.. i'm like quite totally not prepared.. thinking of how i failed in yfc last time.. haha. well cos i din haf time to study.. and its stressful man.. theres so much thgs to do while in the air.. cant even stop for a second.. tiring "game" eh.. hope i'll be able to handle it better this time in this CT-4B, the trainer for RSAF.. well.. good luck to me.. and to the rest of the week as well.. this week is when ppl might get started to kick out.. ah.. hope i wun be the first few at least.. for one thg im quite sure is.. i'll be considerably sad if i get kicked.. damn..
